About

The tall ships will return to Duluth in August 2019! The Parade of Sail kayak tour will ensure you a fantastic view of the “Grand Parade of Sail.” As you paddle the Lake Superior you’ll be able to watch the ships pass under the Aerial Lift Bridge. This tour will give you an uninterrupted and uncrowded view of the entire parade. Be sure to bring your waterproof camera! Not only do you get a front row seat, but our guides will narrate the history of each tall ship that passes under the bridge as it happens.

The Parade of Sail is a 2 hour event, the kayak tour is 3 hours long allowing us time to get your gear fit, give you kayaking instruction, and get into position for the parade. Please be aware that once you are on the water there is nowhere to get out of the kayak. For scheduling within 24 hours of the desired departure time, you will need to call or email us for availability (you will not be able to book online).

ABOUT

See the ships from a new perspective! Our popular 90 minute tall ships kayak tour will get you out on the water and away from the crowds. After brief kayak safety and instruction you will head out on the water with and experienced guide. This tour is 90 minutes long and we will explore the festival area and some historic spots on the Duluth harbor.

You’ll paddle along the docked tall ships as our guide shares the history of the ship, both the original and replica. In addition to learning about the ships we love to share info about Duluth, Lake Superior, and the surrounding area. We will paddle as close to the ships as allowed by the USCG.

We like to keep our groups small, typically 6 paddlers per guide. That allows for proper safety and gives us the chance to share stories with you. If weather conditions, boat traffic, and time allows we may have the chance to paddle under the Aerial Lift Bridge and into Lake Superior (early morning tours only).
